A bit of history and first steps of GulfStream company

Since 1967, when the U.S. Navy selected the Gulfstream I as the weapon system and navigational trainer for its A-6 crews, Gulfstream aircraft have earned widespread recognition as the definitive choice for special missions platforms. Today, more Gulfstream aircraft perform government and military service than any other large-cabin business jet aircraft in the world. More than 30 countries worldwide operate Gulfstreams, including 23 nations that use our aircraft to transport their heads-of-state. Within the United States, Gulfstream aircraft account for the majority of all large-cabin business jets delivered to the government from 1967 to the present. Gulfstream performance and mission reliability has even earned us the distinction and privilege of serving all five branches of the U.S. military.

Unlike other business jet aircraft manufacturers, Gulfstream maintains a long-established Special Missions Program Office, staffed by program managers and project engineers with the experience and expertise to meet the most demanding challenges. Working with domestic and international governments and defense contractors, we design our platforms to meet specific national requirements. Then, in conjunction with our technology partners, we coordinate aircraft modifications and oversee the integration of state-of-the-art mission equipment to meet each customer’s unique needs.

Gulfstream aircraft have been defining and redefining The World Standard in special missions for more than 40 years. From the mid-cabin, high-speed Gulfstream G150 to the large-cabin, ultra-long-range Gulfstream G550, our fleet offers the highest performance transportation and special missions platform solutions for government and military applications worldwide.

Gulfstream G150

We are starting with smallest jet, G150 series. The G150 is quickly becoming a favorite in the mid-size market. With the longest range at the fastest speed, an advanced avionics suite, and the most comfortable cabin, the G150 provides the most value in its class.

Through the use of high thrust, fuel efficient Honeywell TFE731-40AR engines, combined with numerous aerodynamic improvements, the Gulfstream G150 is the fastest mid-sized business aircraft in the world today. The G150 started breaking speed records even before it went into service. A G150 test aircraft established a city-pair speed record on a flight from Tel Aviv to Geneva.

Turning to the cockpit, Gulfstream's avionics and research staff improved the Rockwell Collins ProLine 21 avionics system, adding some of the advanced technology inherent in the vaunted Gulfstream PlaneView cockpit. The result was a fully integrated avionics system that enhances flight-crew performance and improves the overall level of flight safety.

Gulfstream engineers and interior designers also focused on the G150's cabin. Now with a longer, wider, more oval-shaped cabin, the G150 offers operators a choice of three seating configurations accommodating up to eight passengers. It also provides more seated shoulder room, headroom and legroom than any competing aircraft in the mid-sized category.

Many elements support the inherent value of the G150. In the first two years of service, the G150 fleet boasts an enviable 99.8 percent dispatch-reliability rate. On the financial side, the G150 generates some of the lowest operating costs in the industry. The comprehensive warranty on the airplane covers its primary structures, engines, and all production components (APU, avionics, etc.) for five years. Then there's Gulfstream's award-winning worldwide product support, bolstered by a network of 3,000 fully trained professionals positioned across six continents.

The best-in-class in the mid-sized aircraft category, the G150 proudly upholds the Gulfstream tradition.

Gulfstream G200:

The first of the new generation of super mid-sized business jets, the G200  immediately captured public attention when it was introduced to the business-aviation market in 1999. A decade later, the Gulfstream G200 large-cabin, mid-range business jet still boasts the longest range, the largest cabin and the best balanced overall capability and price in its category.

Its glass cockpit, featuring the Rockwell Collins ProLine 4 avionics suite, presents system status flight information on easy-to-read, 7.25 inch-square displays for immediate interpretation. For added safety, the G200 offers color weather radar with turbulence detection, the TCAS II (traffic alert and collision-avoidance system), and an EGPWS (Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System) with wind shear detection. Gulfstream also offers an optional auto-throttle system to reduce pilot workload for improved safety.

With a cabin length of 24 feet 5 inches and a height of 6 feet 3 inches, the G200's roomy interior offers two spacious living areas that enhance productivity while catering to each traveler's personal needs. Interior seating arrangements can accommodate 8 to 10 passengers. The G200's spacious cabin creates a pleasant living environment with abundant sunshine from our traditional oval windows and 100 percent fresh air from our fresh-air system, both of which contribute to an overall feeling of spaciousness which reduces fatigue while promoting a sense of well-being.

To measure the value of a Gulfstream G200 large-cabin, mid-range business jet, consider the tangible factors such as its proven Pratt & Whitney engines, its plush seating, full galley and comfortable, stand-up headroom. Then reflect on the intangible factors: a dispatch-reliability rate greater than 99.7 percent, and a worldwide customer-support program that encompasses Gulfstream and General Dynamics Aviation Services facilities on six continents. Now add to that a host of aircraft-support programs that contribute to our number-one ranking in product support year after year.

Performance, comfort, productivity, support and safety. There's no reason to consider another airplane in the super mid-sized business jet class.

Gulfstream G350

Many factors influence a business jet's mission requirements. There's the destination, of course. Then consider the average number of passengers, the number and types of missions flown each month, and other factors. Recognizing the diversity of its operators' needs, Gulfstream had the foresight years ago to develop a comprehensive fleet of aircraft that meets every price point and mission requirement from 2,950 to 7,000 nautical miles.

Fitting nicely in the middle is the Gulfstream G350  large-cabin, mid-range business jet, a niche airplane designed for operators who require transcontinental range and the same comfortable cabin appointments as those found on its sister ship, the G450  long-range business jet. The G350 can whisk eight passengers and a crew of three 3,800 nautical miles at a cruise speed of Mach 0.80. That means it can easily connect Washington, D.C., with any point in the continental U.S. and Alaska. Alternatively, it can link Miami with Rio de Janeiro and Sydney with Singapore.

The G350 takes advantage of the leading role Gulfstream plays in developing advanced aviation technology. It's equipped with the Gulfstream PlaneView  cockpit, the same flight deck developed for the ultra-long-range G500  and G550 . The PlaneView  cockpit has been hailed as the most advanced flight deck available in business aviation.

The G350's wide, roomy cabin can comfortably accommodate up to 16 passengers in three distinct seating areas. To personalize the aircraft, operators may choose from six individual floor plans. The G350 boasts an unmatched cabin environment. The tastefully appointed cabin boasts three temperature zones, abundant natural light streaming through a dozen of Gulfstream's signature oval windows and 100 percent fresh air constantly circulating through the cabin.

To measure the value of the G350, think of the many years of research and development that Gulfstream has invested in its ultra-long-range aircraft. Gulfstream introduced the first ultra-long-range business jet, the GV, more than a decade ago. Since then, our engineers and designers have been steadily improving the technology, making each successive model safer and more comfortable by enhancing the avionics systems, situational awareness and passenger comfort and amenities.

For more than 50 years, Gulfstream has been earning the respect and trust of business travelers. By combining performance with safety, comfort and affordability, the G350 upholds the Gulfstream tradition.

Gulfstream G450:

The Gulfstream G450  is not only the best large-cabin, long-range business jet in its class, it's also a direct descendent of the storied GIV -series aircraft, the best-selling business jet in the world. By the time production of the GIV-series ceased in 2002, Gulfstream had turned out over 500 of these world-class airplanes.

The G450 is a complete upgrade of what was an outstanding business jet to begin with. It can reach a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.88 and carry a management team of eight up to 4,350 nautical miles at its normal cruise speed of Mach 0.80. With its intercontinental range, the G450 easily links Dallas with Paris. High altitudes don't faze this aircraft. A G450 departed the high-altitude Centennial Airport in Denver and touched down slightly more than seven hours later at Honolulu Airport on Oahu. The flight set a new city-pair speed record.

The G450's cockpit bristles with the same advanced technology found on all other large cabin Gulfstreams. The G450's PlaneView  cockpit is considered to be the most advanced flight deck in business aviation. The airplane's avionics suite presents critical flight status information on 14-inch liquid crystal display screens arranged in a landscape format. Gulfstream's Enhanced Vision System™, a standard feature, enhances situational awareness significantly by presenting pilots with a clear picture of runway markings, taxiways and the surrounding landscape at night or in deteriorating weather conditions. Gulfstream also offers the Synthetic Vision – Primary Flight Display as an option increasing the level of safety and situational awareness even in zero visibility conditions.

G450 operators may choose from six Select Interior Configurations to personalize their cabin. Individual cabin designs will accommodate up to 16 passengers comfortably with berthing for six. Whatever the configuration, G450 passengers will appreciate the abundant sunshine streaming through Gulfstream's signature oval windows, the 100 percent fresh air and the advanced soundproofing that envelops the living environment in new levels of quiet.

The inherent value of the G450 is evident in its GIV lineage, its PlaneView cockpit and its greater than 99.8 percent dispatch reliability rate. Like all members of the Gulfstream fleet, the G450 is sustained by Gulfstream's vast, worldwide product-support network. More than 3,000 trained professionals stationed at strategically located service centers, authorized warranty centers and line-service facilities around the world stand ready to meet the needs of the G450 fleet.

The G450 was developed by the same team that won the 2003 Collier Trophy, the most prestigious award in aviation today. Whether you cross a continent or an ocean, the G450 will strive to exceed your expectations.

Gulfstream G500:

If your mission profiles combine international with domestic travel, then the Gulfstream G500  large-cabin, ultra-long range business jet is the ideal choice. At Mach 0.85, the versatile G500 will carry an eight-person management team 5,100 nautical miles in record time. For longer flights to far-off capitals, the G500 offers a range of 5,800 nm, easily linking Los Angeles with Tokyo or London with Johannesburg.

Like all Gulfstream ultra-long-range business jets, the G500 is equipped with the Gulfstream PlaneView  cockpit, the most advanced flight deck in business aviation. Based on Honeywell's next-generation Primus Epic  integrated avionics suite, the PlaneView cockpit in the G500 has Gulfstream's signature Cursor Control Device and the optional Gulfstream Enhanced Vision System II™. The CCD aids pilots in flight planning, navigation and communications. The EVS significantly improves situational awareness by enabling pilots to see runway markings, taxiways and the surrounding landscape at night or in murky weather.

The G500 was designed with productivity and comfort in mind. The airplane's roomy cabin features up to four distinct living areas, three separate temperature zones and a choice of available configurations that seat up to 18 passengers. Separate groupings, thoughtfully arranged, encourage working, dining, entertaining or resting.

By combining ample sunlight from Gulfstream's signature oval windows with continually supplied 100 percent fresh air and a low cabin altitude of 6,000 feet, the G500 counters the effects of jet lag and delivers its passengers relaxed and refreshed at their destination.

Measuring the value of a G500 ultra-long-range business jet is simply a matter of mixing traditional and nontraditional factors. Consider, first of all, the airplane's extensive range and impressive speed. Then there's a living environment that accommodates multiple layouts and configurations. Now mix in untraditional factors: its advanced flight deck, a dispatch-reliability rate of more than 99.8 percent, and Gulfstream's top-ranked worldwide product support network.

We built the first airplane designed expressly for business travel more than 50 years ago. We set the standard then, and we continue to set the standard today.

The Gulfstream G550  large-cabin, ultra-long range business jet turned heads right from the start. Less than two weeks after it entered service, a G550 flew nonstop from Seoul, South Korea, to Orlando, Fla., covering the 7,301 nautical-mile distance in 14.5 hours and setting a city pair record. In fact, it would go on to establish 40 city-pair records in its first five years of service.

This is a brawny aircraft with an international reach. Powered by enhanced Rolls-Royce BR710 turbofan engines, the G550 has a range of 6,750 nm at Mach 0.80 and a high-speed cruise capability of Mach 0.87. With its long legs, the G550 easily links Washington, D.C., with Dubai, London with Singapore and Tokyo with Paris.

As you might expect, the G550 is equipped with the Gulfstream PlaneView cockpit, the most advanced flight deck in business aviation. Based on the Honeywell Primus Epic architecture and display system, the PlaneView cockpit presents critical flight information on 14-inch liquid crystal displays arranged for easy interpretation.

The PlaneView cockpit is brimming with Gulfstream's latest avionics achievements: the first fully synchronous triple Flight Management System, the Gulfstream Signature Cursor Control Device, which improves the way that pilots interact with the PlaneView avionics; then there's the latest in Head-Up Display technology integrated with the next-generation Gulfstream Enhanced Vision System II™, which captures pictures of the environment and presents the pilot with a clear picture of runway markings, taxiways and surrounding terrain at night or in the worst weather conditions. Gulfstream was the first business jet manufacturer to certify an optional synthetic vision system on the G550. The optional Synthetic Vision - Primary Flight Display adds to the enhanced situational awareness even in zero visibility conditions.

The cabin aboard the G550 combines productivity with exceptional comfort. It features up to four distinct living areas, three temperature zones, a choice of 12 floor plan configurations with seating for up to 18 passengers. Maintaining contact with the home office is easy thanks to a host of standard communication features: a fax machine, a printer, a wireless local area network and satellite communications. As an option, consider Gulfstream's Broad Band Multi Link, which combines fast Internet-connection speeds with low operating costs.

The value of this world-class airplane is readily apparent in its 6,750-nm range, its best-in-class cockpit, its advanced technology, its superb warranty, and Gulfstream's top-rated customer support network that stands ready to render assistance on six continents.

And, finally, the team that developed the G550 was honored for its work with the Robert J. Collier Trophy, the most prestigious award in aviation today. We're as proud of the honor as we are of the G550.

Conslusion about Gulfstream jets

At the and after this short history and detailed tech details about all live Gulfstream business and special missions models, what we can say except that if there is perfect private jet, why wouldn't be a one of Gulfstrem models?

I hope that You enjoy and they You will charter some of those beauties sometime, and if you do that i would like to comment and share with others expirience of flying with one of those machines.

If you can't charter one of those, then at least you can fun with Gulfstream interactive plane view.

Gulfstream 550 private jet

As we already said that there is no cheap jets, todays I will present you Gulfsteam 550.

With a top speed of nearly mach one and a normal cruising range of more than 1200 km the Gulfsteam 550 Ultra-Long Range Business Jet can fly from New York to Tokyo in under 15 hours. Couple that with the unparalleled integrated cockpit capabilities provided by the Honeywell Primus Epic Suite and the G550 becomes the hands down best option for the billionaire business mogul on the go. However, big engines and fancy flight controls do not by themselves a luxury plane make, the real meat of this aircraft isn't found hanging from the wings; it's found inside, in the cabin.

Inside the spacious 1600 cubic feet of seating area the G550 really comes into its own providing a level of opulence unheard of at its price point. For a mere $50,000,000 USD you can pick up one of these beauties chocked full of standard amenities complete with a satellite phone, a fax machine, a DVD player, two LCD monitors, a CD player/radio, wireless LAN, and the full suite of Airshow 400 flight information systems. Plus, you also get seating for fourteen in your choice of leather or micro-fiber captains chair, a galley, and enough storage for four golf bags, two kayaks, and six suitcases.

Perhaps the only drawback to this aircraft is its hourly fuel cost which, at roughly $2,300 USD, is substantial. All told analysts anticipate that any given company or individual would need to invest roughly a million dollars each year just to keep the Gulfstream 550 well and flying. Then again, I'd wager that when one enters into the market for a $50 million dollar plane thoughts such as gas prices and mechanic expenses tend to go out the window. Just look at who's buying the G550, there's celebrities like Gisele Bundchen and Rush Limbaugh, business billionaires such as Mark Cuban and Vladimir Yevtushenkov, and sports teams including the Seattle Seahawks and the Boston Red Sox.

All told the Gulfsteam 550 is a beautiful flying machine with the power of Ferrari and luxury of a Bentley. The G550 really is the 'it' plane for those jet-setters who need intercontinental capabilities with no regard for price tag.
